The quick answer

S-GAME’s October 28 launch letter announces an approximately 5 GB day-one update and flags NVIDIA driver 621.01 instability. Its game-specific recommendation is 617.42. Check the current announcement before changing drivers; these are developer statements, not our test results.

Update before your first session

The developer asks preload users to install the launch update before playing. Fresh downloads are described as including it. The patch targets ray/path-tracing performance and bugs; no exact FPS gain is promised.

  • Allow the launcher to finish its update and verification work. A launch-day date alone does not prove your platform has unlocked.
  • Record the installed game version and driver version before comparing results. The approximately 5 GB update is not the total installation size.

Check the driver recommendation in context

The 617.42 recommendation is dated and specific to this game. S-GAME asks affected users to use a clean installation when rolling back, pending another NVIDIA update.

  • Check for a newer official notice first and confirm that a driver supports your exact GPU and Windows version.
  • Do not use an unverified driver mirror or assume that a result for a different GPU applies to yours. This guide does not establish that every crash is a driver problem.

Why NVIDIA and S-GAME advice can differ

NVIDIA’s October 20 Game Ready article promotes 621.01; S-GAME’s later October 28 letter instead recommends 617.42 for this game. The developer letter remained the newest item visible in the checked Steam announcement list on October 29. These are dated recommendations, not a current-driver ranking or our comparison test.

Build a useful performance baseline

Our suggested troubleshooting order is to isolate one change at a time, rather than change several settings and lose track of what helped.

  • Use the same scene, resolution and graphics preset for each comparison.
  • Write down upscaling mode, frame generation and ray/path-tracing state. Displayed generated frames and base rendering performance answer different questions.
  • Compare against the publisher’s stated conditions: the minimum and recommended FPS targets both include upscaling.
  • When asking for help, include your hardware, game/driver versions, exact settings and a repeatable description of the problem.

What this checklist does not establish

We have not tested a release copy or verified the patch’s performance uplift. This is a sourced preparation guide, not a universal fix or a full walkthrough. Availability and actual download size should be checked in your own launcher.
